Arcane
Miniatures Newsletter :: Number 95 :: 24 January
Good morning,
No 'new' releases as such this week, but there are a number
of ranges on the site now that are new(well... ish!) to
us that deserve a bit of a mention, plus there are updates
for Warmachine, Rackham and Anima Tactics so keep reading
- you may well see something you like!
DARK
AGE COMPLETE RANGE- Click here to view
Despite always loving these
figures, I've never given them a proper crack of the whip
- but seeing as a number of you have been asking recently,
you'll be doubtless ecstatic (oh go on) to hear that the
full range of rulebooks and miniatures is now available
for order - the Forsaken, Dragyri, Skarrd and Brood can
be seen in all their 'glory' and all three rulebooks / supplements
have been put into their respective sections. There are
some truly lovely figures, sculpted by the likes of Werner
Klocke and Steve Buddle, plenty of fantastic paint jobs
to ogle, and the best news is that the game is played with
only d20 dice... well, that and about 10-20 minis per side.
If you're unfamiliar with this range, take it from me -
you're sure to like some of what you see!
CALL
OF CTHULHU - Click here to view
The first of the RPG pages
is up and I hope you'll agree it's a doozy! Call of Cthulhu
is one of my all time fave RPG's, and you can now explore
the nightmare world of H. P. Lovecraft in earnest with a
comprehensive range of rulebooks, scenarios, campaigns and
sourcebooks. There are some great items in here from way
back when - any player who remembers 'Shadows of Yog Sothoth'
or 'Spawn of Azathoth'... well, they're still here! For
those of you who think I've taken leave of my senses, believe
me - this game is unlike any other. For player raised on
World of Darkness, Vampire etc... it all started here. Now
then, where did I put that plaster to cover up all the edges
and corners in the room...
PARANOIA
Dare I say another classic?
I think I do! Going from Cthulhu to Paranoia is a bit like
going from the sublime to the cor blimey, but you can't
deny there's variety going on... Paranoia is perhaps an
'acquired taste' but once you're hooked into the world of
the treasonous, traitorous scum that are your co-Troubleshooters
then there's no going back. You can of course trust me.
The Computer has given me this information, and the Computer
is your friend. Therefore I am your friend as well, and
to not buy Paranoia is treason. Thank you for your cooperation.
If that makes no sense, then you really do have something
wonderful to discover with this RPG ;-)
CLEARANCE
SECTION :: GRAB A BARGAIN! - Click here to view
They're still coming... more Void and Wargods items listed
this week.
ANIMA
TACTICS - Click here to view
Thankfully, we received confirmation yesterday that the
full stock of this range is definitely due in the UK by
Friday which means it'll be with me next Monday - Tuesday.
The manufacturers have been totally overwhelmed with the
demand - which can be viewed as either a good or bad thing
depending on your viewpoint! - but it bodes well for the
future of the range, and there will hopefully be new items
available soon.
OTHER NEWS:
Confrontation February Releases:
I should soon have pricing for the next batch of Rackham
goodness which includes such marvels as the Aberration Prime,
the first Wolfen Worg, Lady Claudia Nessalith, and the Secrets
book for Cadwallon, amongst others. There are more AT43
boxes due mid month - Bane Goliaths, Steel Tacarms, two
variations of Fire Toad and another accessory pack. Bearing
in mind the January AT43 items *still* aren't here you may
consider the release date on these as being 'fluid' but
I'll keep you up to date.
Warmachine and Hordes:
Next week sees the second half of this month's mini releases
arrive - Cygnar Rangers, Khador Assault Commandos, Druids
of Orboros and the Skorne Basilisk Krea. There's also the
small matter of the Prime: Remix Rulebook (softcover and
Special Ed. hardcover) turning up as well...
Urban War:
Urban Mammoth have continued to post new pics of forthcoming
figures, many of which seem to be taking their approach
to sculpting and painting up several notches. Unfortunately,
due to their staff illness, there are still no firm release
dates for any of these goodies, but if you've previously
thought Urban War was a bit of an 'eye-bleeder' then you
could be pleasantly surprised by what they have in the offing.
More RPG's online soon:
Over the next couple of weeks further lines will be added
to our roleplaying section. If you have a burning desire
to get hold of any particular game, please let me know as
there is a *huge* selection available over and above what
will be appearing on the site.
