Kidderminster College
Spring is always a busy time in
the education sector - the dust has settled on the previous
year's enrolment and, once figures have been collated over the
autumn, the new batch of targets is decided on.
We offer full marketing and design support to the College -
arranging media space, planning outdoor promotions, handling
the design and print of literature, and monitoring / reporting
on visitor numbers at open days to judge overall success and
interest in the campaign.
This year is no exception, and the College are already well
into the execution of their latest campaign. In fact, work began
last September with the production of their 2007-08 Prospectus,
which adopted an informal, conversational approach to ensure
the content wasn't wasted on the target market - 16-19 year
olds.
February is an important month in this recruitment cycle, and
key to the College's plans is their Open Evening, when potential
students and their parents are invited to visit, talk with tutors,
explore the environment, and see presentations and events, many
of which are organised by existing students.
To ensure a good attendance, a wide range of media is being
employed, giving great blanket coverage of the Kidderminster
area and outlying suburbs. Radio sponsorship means the College
has a constant cycle of ad spots throughout the day, and is
a quick and effective way to win mindshare amongst the local
population.
Regional press titles have been booked, with a two week ad run
covering much of Worcestershire giving much needed 'take home
and read' space. In addition, out-of-home advertising is being
fulfilled by a Streetliner campaign using the local bus company
- invaluable in spreading the College brand and pertinent event
information to a wider audience.
The last week in January will see a mobile vehicle taking a
route that covers all the local high schools and competitior
colleges - fully equipped with a sound system, literature to
hand out, and massive 20ft by 10ft vinyl ads to spread the word.
Promotional posters dot the roads in Kidderminster itself, and
the College website homepage is adapted to display eye catching
graphics promoting the event.
On the night itself, we'll be present monitoring attendance,
making sure that we continue to help the College achieve their
all-important targets. Since we began working with them, attendances
at events like these have increased 70% year on year, and applications
have been well above target.
Kidderminster College Spring Open Evening takes place on 8th
